Amateur photographer Miguel Osvaldo reveals all regarding his new self-portrait, Christmas trance

I was born in Uruguay, and am now living in the Basque Country with my husband and our two cats.

I’ve always been fascinated by the arts and I have found a special way to express myself in photography. I’m still an amateur, and am learning slowly, but loving every step.

My self-portraits start with experimentation – trying a new feature or technique; being inspired by someone else’s work; or working through ideas that come to my mind. In this case I was playing with Christmas lights in the dark.

I see the lights as an expression of how I live during the festivities as, being an introvert, sometimes I wish I could fall into a trance, to celebrate Christmas in the silence of my heart, far from all the commercial madness.
