sP introduces: Chiara Cappetta

selfPortrait introduces Chiara Cappetta, aka Folur’s Photography – a 21-year-old self-portrait artist based in Bologna

Chiara Cappetta was born in Agropoli – a little city by the sea in southern Italy.

Having been gifted a camera by her uncle aged ten, Chiara began taking photographs of her younger sisters and friends, before moving to taking self-portraits.

Today, she describes capturing photographs of herself as ‘a need.’

The self-portraits we showcase here are all film photographs shot in places Chiara ‘feels part of’, through which she expresses her feelings and thoughts.

She comments, ‘I put the camera above something, count ten seconds, and the picture is made. One shot.’

We singled Chiara’s work out for its film still-like quality, and the transience it so effectively captures.
